5 Này các Tỷ-kheo, ở đây, Tỷ-kheo nội tâm có ái dục, tuệ tri: "Nội tâm tôi có ái dục"; ‘‘Idha , bhikkhave, bhikkhu santaṃ vā ajjhattaṃ kāmacchandaṃ ‘atthi me ajjhattaṃ kāmacchando’ti pajānāti, It's when a mendicant who has sensual desire in them understands: 'I have sensual desire in me.'
6 hay nội tâm không có ái dục, tuệ tri: "Nội tâm tôi không có ái dục". asantaṃ vā ajjhattaṃ kāmacchandaṃ ‘natthi me ajjhattaṃ kāmacchando’ti pajānāti; When they don't have sensual desire in them, they understand: 'I don't have sensual desire in me.'
7 Và với ái dục chưa sanh nay sanh khởi, vị ấy tuệ tri như vậy; yathā ca anuppannassa kāmacchandassa uppādo hoti tañca pajānāti, They understand how sensual desire arises;
8 và với ái dục đã sanh nay được đoạn diệt, vị ấy tuệ tri như vậy; yathā ca uppannassa kāmacchandassa pahānaṃ hoti tañca pajānāti, how, when it's already arisen, it's given up;
9 và với ái dục đã được đoạn diệt, tương lai không sanh khởi nữa, vị ấy tuệ tri như vậy. yathā ca pahīnassa kāmacchandassa āyatiṃ anuppādo hoti tañca pajānāti. and how, once it's given up, it doesn't arise again in the future.
10 Hay nội tâm có sân hận, tuệ tri: "Nội tâm tôi có sân hận"; ‘‘Santaṃ vā ajjhattaṃ byāpādaṃ ‘atthi me ajjhattaṃ byāpādo’ti pajānāti, When they have ill will in them, they understand: 'I have ill will in me.'

13 và với sân hận đã sanh, nay được đoạn diệt, vị ấy tuệ tri như vậy; yathā ca uppannassa byāpādassa pahānaṃ hoti tañca pajānāti, how, when it's already arisen, it's given up;
14 và với sân hận đã được đoạn diệt, tương lai không sanh khởi nữa, vị ấy tuệ tri như vậy. yathā ca pahīnassa byāpādassa āyatiṃ anuppādo hoti tañca pajānāti. and how, once it's given up, it doesn't arise again in the future.
15 Hay nội tâm có hôn trầm thụy miên, tuệ tri: "Nội tâm tôi có hôn trầm thụy miên"; ‘‘Santaṃ vā ajjhattaṃ thīnamiddhaṃ ‘atthi me ajjhattaṃ thīnamiddha’nti pajānāti, When they have dullness and drowsiness in them, they understand: 'I have dullness and drowsiness in me.'

36 Lại nữa, này các Tỷ-kheo, Tỷ-kheo sống quán pháp trên các pháp đối với năm thủ uẩn. ‘‘Puna caparaṃ, bhikkhave, bhikkhu dhammesu dhammānupassī viharati pañcasu upādānakkhandhesu. Furthermore, a mendicant meditates by observing an aspect of principles with respect to the five grasping aggregates.
37 Này các Tỷ-kheo, thế nào là Tỷ-kheo sống quán pháp trên các pháp đối với năm thủ uẩn? Kathañca pana, bhikkhave, bhikkhu dhammesu dhammānupassī viharati pañcasu upādānakkhandhesu? And how does a mendicant meditate observing an aspect of principles with respect to the five grasping aggregates?
38 Này các Tỷ-kheo, Tỷ-kheo suy tư: Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu – It's when a mendicant contemplates:
39 "Ðây là sắc, đây là sắc tập, đây là sắc diệt. ‘iti rūpaṃ, iti rūpassa samudayo, iti rūpassa atthaṅgamo; 'Such is form, such is the origin of form, such is the ending of form.
40 Ðây là thọ, đây là thọ tập, đây là thọ diệt. iti vedanā, iti vedanāya samudayo, iti vedanāya atthaṅgamo; Such is feeling, such is the origin of feeling, such is the ending of feeling.
41 Ðây là tưởng, đây là tưởng tập; đây là tưởng diệt. iti saññā, iti saññāya samudayo, iti saññāya atthaṅgamo; Such is perception, such is the origin of perception, such is the ending of perception.
42 Ðây là hành, đây là hành tập, đây là hành diệt. iti saṅkhārā, iti saṅkhārānaṃ samudayo, iti saṅkhārānaṃ atthaṅgamo; Such are choices, such is the origin of choices, such is the ending of choices.
43 Ðây là thức, đây là thức tập, đây là thức diệt". iti viññāṇaṃ, iti viññāṇassa samudayo, iti viññāṇassa atthaṅgamo’ti; Such is consciousness, such is the origin of consciousness, such is the ending of consciousness.'
44 Như vậy, vị ấy sống quán pháp trên các nội pháp; ‘‘Iti ajjhattaṃ vā dhammesu dhammānupassī viharati, And so they meditate observing an aspect of principles internally...

Furthermore, a mendicant meditates by observing an aspect of principles with respect to the six interior and exterior sense fields.
49 Này các Tỷ-kheo, thế nào là Tỷ-kheo sống quán pháp trên các pháp đối với sáu nội ngoại xứ? Kathañca pana, bhikkhave, bhikkhu dhammesu dhammānupassī viharati chasu ajjhattikabāhiresu āyatanesu? And how does a mendicant meditate observing an aspect of principles with respect to the six interior and exterior sense fields?
50 Này các Tỷ-kheo, ở đây Tỷ-kheo tuệ tri con mắt và tuệ tri các sắc, ‘‘Idha , bhikkhave, bhikkhu cakkhuñca pajānāti, rūpe ca pajānāti, It's when a mendicant understands the eye, sights,
51 do duyên hai pháp này, kiết sử sanh khởi, vị ấy tuệ tri như vậy; yañca tadubhayaṃ paṭicca uppajjati saṃyojanaṃ tañca pajānāti, and the fetter that arises dependent on both of these.
52 và với kiết sử chưa sanh nay sanh khởi, vị ấy tuệ tri như vậy; yathā ca anuppannassa saṃyojanassa uppādo hoti tañca pajānāti, They understand how the fetter that has not arisen comes to arise;
53 và với kiết sử đã sanh nay được đoạn diệt, vị ấy tuệ tri như vậy; yathā ca uppannassa saṃyojanassa pahānaṃ hoti tañca pajānāti, how the arisen fetter comes to be abandoned;

69 Này các Tỷ-kheo, thế nào là Tỷ-kheo sống quán pháp trên các pháp đối với Bảy Giác chi? Kathañca pana, bhikkhave, bhikkhu dhammesu dhammānupassī viharati sattasu bojjhaṅgesu? And how does a mendicant meditate observing an aspect of principles with respect to the seven awakening factors?
70 Này các Tỷ-kheo, ở đây Tỷ-kheo nội tâm có niệm giác chi, Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu santaṃ vā ajjhattaṃ satisambojjhaṅgaṃ It's when a mendicant who has the awakening factor of mindfulness in them
71 tuệ tri: "Nội tâm tôi có niệm giác chi"; ‘atthi me ajjhattaṃ satisambojjhaṅgo’ti pajānāti, understands: 'I have the awakening factor of mindfulness in me.'

74 Và với niệm giác chi chưa sanh nay sanh khởi, vị ấy tuệ tri như vậy, yathā ca anuppannassa satisambojjhaṅgassa uppādo hoti tañca pajānāti, They understand how the awakening factor of mindfulness that has not arisen comes to arise;

Ekāyano ayaṃ, bhikkhave, maggo sattānaṃ visuddhiyā sokaparidevānaṃ samatikkamāya dukkhadomanassānaṃ atthaṅgamāya ñāyassa adhigamāya nibbānassa sacchikiriyāya	'The four kinds of mindfulness meditation are the path to convergence. They are in order to purify sentient beings, to get past sorrow and crying, to make an end of pain and sadness end the cycle of suffering, and to realize extinguishment.'
